How it’s built
- Layout
- A nearly black-and-white close portrait fills the frame: the right half shows a partly obscured face under a broad dark hat, with shoulder and neck fading into shadow. Centered over the portrait is a two-part white title: calligraphic script above widely tracked high-contrast uppercase serif capitals. Small menu, collection identity and 3D Map label align across the top; a circled down arrow sits at lower left. The still does not establish arrow behavior.
- Type
- Contrasting paired display treatment: flowing calligraphic script above widely tracked high-contrast uppercase serif capitals; tiny restrained top labels. Exact fonts and metrics unknown.
- Color and surface
- Black-and-white photograph with deep shadow and soft gray highlights; white typography; no visible panels.
- Components
- Dark monochrome close portrait, centered paired script/capital title, compact three-part top utility row and circled lower-left down arrow.
What makes it work
- Nearly monochrome, shadow-rich close portrait fills the frame.
- Centered title pairs calligraphic script with widely tracked high-contrast upright capitals.
- Sparse small utility labels remain along the top edge.
On a new subjectFor an unrelated contemporary dance archive, use an original monochrome close performance portrait; center a short calligraphic phrase above widely tracked uppercase serif title words, with minimal top navigation. Use new imagery and copy; treat any bottom cue as a visual mark until its behavior is observed.
Live behavior
- Today
- The Privy Collection current landing view presents “The art / OF THE SUBLIME” over a dark monochrome close-up of a curved luxury object, with Menu at top-left, a centered collection wordmark, “3D Map” at top-right, a lower-right map preview and a down control. A small cookie prompt sits at the bottom of desktop/phone captures. The selected gallery image instead uses a monochrome portrait beneath a hat with the same headline and utility controls, so the current and gallery imagery are distinct.
- Responsive
- Desktop is 1440×1000, tablet 768×1024 and phone 390×844; all captured documents equal their viewports and report y=0. The tablet image shows a dark “Please rotate your device” screen rather than the desktop hero. The phone retains the portrait hero, top controls, map preview and compact cookie prompt. The title uses sampled Altesse Std for “The art” and TT Ramillas Light for the remaining large line; the declared body stack is TT Commons Pro/Helvetica/Arial. The screenshots do not establish the breakpoint or device-orientation rules.
- Scroll
- The desktop-scroll-labeled capture records scrollY=0 in a viewport-sized 1440×1000 document. It remains an opening view, not evidence of lower-page content.
